Tooth Cave Spider







"What is the Tooth Cave Spider?"
The Tooth Cave Spider is an endangered spider native to Texas. As the name implies, it lives in caves, and is endangered because the caves are being destroyed. It lives in Travis County, Texas in the Edwards Plateau.

"What does it look like?"
The Tooth Cave Spider is off white. It grows to be less than 1/16" in length. It is an arachnid.
"What is its scientific name?
Neoleptoneta myopica


"What makes this spider different than the rest?"

It is the smallest of all listed invertabrates.




"Why is the Tooth Cave Spider Endangered?"

The caves theses spiders live in are being destroyed and paved over. They are dying from pollution, and unstable temperatures in their natuaral habitat brought on by humans.
"How is it effected by global warming?"
They are dying from pollution, and unstable temperatures in their natuaral habitat brought on by humans. Both of these are side effects of global warming.
